Senior Software Packaging Engineer with QA Focus

• Solid understanding of Microsoft operating systems and experience with packaging tools such as MSI, MSIX, and App-V.
• Strong skills in PowerShell scripting, particularly for automating testing workflows.
• Familiarity with software distribution systems like SCCM, Altiris, or ZenWorks is beneficial.
• Proven ability to create and execute test cases for software packaging and report on results effectively.

• Focus on quality assurance of software installation routines/packages rather than their creation.
• Review and validate software packages using technical and functional checklists to ensure seamless deployment.
• Perform thorough testing of MSI, MSIX, and App-V packages to verify compliance with established standards.
• Identify and document issues during the validation process, providing feedback for improvements.
• Collaborate with the packaging team to suggest and implement improvements for package quality and efficiency.
• Automate testing processes where possible using PowerShell or similar scripting tools.
• Work with packaging tools like PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT), Windows Installer, Admin Studio, RayPack, and others to validate software.
• Ensure compatibility and functionality of software packages across Microsoft operating systems and popular software distribution systems (e.g., SCCM, Altiris, ZenWorks).
